Final Grant Reports, 1951–1981

1951-1981

This series consists of reports that were created by local jurisdictions from each of the United States as well as Guam, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico to document various community improvement projects. Projects documented by this series include open space planning, park improvements, capital improvements, public improvements, housing inventories and projections, neighborhood analyses, population analyses, economic analyses, land use management, water supply and distribution, storm drainage, thoroughfare plans, airport facilities plans, historic preservation plans, and other programs that met the criteria of Section 701 of the Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program of the 1954 Housing Act. Some reports predate 1954, but were written with the same goals in mind and have been maintained as part of this series. Some reports contain additional materials including maps, charts, and photographs. Most reports are written in English. However, many of the reports from Texas are written in both English and Spanish, and many of the reports from Puerto Rico are written entirely in Spanish.
